How to Install Protac/Airflex Hair Extensions

Hair Extension tape really is revolutionary for installing hair extensions, its double sided tape specifically designed for use with hair (you cant just use double sided tape)….its very strong and allows you to install much more hair in one go giving a thicker look. The tape as the tape is double sided, it is actually sandwiched in between your own hair, making your extensions completely undetectable.  Its easy to remove and is durable and flexible, meaning that it feels lightweight and natural.

Hair types 

good for all types of hair. If you have thick hair then this perfect as you can get more hair into each row, so you can have 3 wefts in each row of protac tape – add the average 3 or 4 rows and you have a very full head of extensions which gives a more balanced look.  If you have thin hair, you can get more wefts of hair in but only use 2 rows of tape, therefore giving a thicker look that’s easily disguised.

What you will need to put them in

• 1 or 2 packets of wefted hair
• 3-5 strips of Protac/airflex
• (optional liquid gold for a more secure fit)
• Scissors
• Sectioning clips
• A spare 2-3 hours

 Heres how to do it 

Section off the hair leaving a one inch gap from the nape of the neck.

Cut a piece of tape the length of the sectioned hair

Cut a piece of wefted hair the same length of the tape.

Peal off the white protective paper from the tape

Press the weft of hair onto the sticky tape below the perforated line and fold the tape over.

Run hot straightners along the blue side of the tape so – don’t worry if the edges crinckle a little bit but don’t hold the straightners onto the tape for too long.

Peal off the blue backing and stick the taped weft onto the hair. Then cover the top sticky side with another layer of hair. (the protac weft is sandwiched between the two pieces of hair).

Tips

This method is great if you want HUGE hair because you can add in two packets of hair extensions!

The tape is quite wide so you can cut as many wefts as you like and add them onto the tape – you can add up to 3 on each piece!
