Unbeweavable Hair Extensions

How to Install Liquid Gold Hair Extensions

Liquid Gold is very strong specialist glue for applying hair extensions. (hobby craft glue just wont do, only use specialist products, otherwise you will be taking them out with scissors and we are trying to make hair longer not shorter)…. This method is also known as cold fusion bonding but don’t be fooled – it really is just glue. The consistency is smiliar to thick nail varnish and is applied to wefts of hair that are then applied directly onto the hair.

How Long do they last

When looked after properly they can last up to 8 weeks before they need to be removed and replaced.

Hair Types

Liquid Gold can be used on all hair types

What you need to put them in

  • Liquid gold glue
  • Sectioning clips
  • Wefted hair extensions
  • Scissors
  • A spare 2 hours

 Heres how to do it

Section off the hair leaving and inch gap from the nape of the neck.

Cut a weft of Unbeweavable hair a little bit shorter than the section – leaving a little gap at either side so that the extension is hidden from view.

Apply the liquid gold across the full length of the weft and allow the glue to go slightly tacky (this makes it stay in place better whilst its setting on the hair).

Press the weft against the hair, smooth it down and hold the weft in place whilst the glue sets, if you take your fingers off the weft and stays in place then its set.

This is optional but does seem to make the seal between the weft and your hair stronger – run a hot curling iron over the weft once its in place – be careful not to burn yourself and remember that the glue will get hot – you only need to hold the iron on each section for about 2-3 seconds.

Section off the next bit of hair and carry on all the way up the head to just below the crown.

Most people will need 3 – 4 wefts up the back of the head and 2 smaller ones on each side.

The last full length of wefted hair should be just above the ear, after this you add smaller pieces into each side.

 Tips

To make sure your extensions are well hidden at the top, section this part off first – the top of your hair is all you have to hide the bonds, so make sure that you leave enough hair to cover them up.

Leave about a centimetre gap between wefts

If you have thin hair you can leave less of a gap between the wefts but be very careful not to put wefts on top of wefts as this can cause problems when you remove them.

Some people like to, or need to tie their hair up a lot with extensions in – if this is the case, then try glueing the side, front pieces on an angle, this will make it easier to tie the hair up and keep the extensions hidden and in better condition

Once you have applied a full head of hair with liquid gold, your extensions will feel very secure, however try to resist the urge to give them a good brush or to do the “whip your hair” dance…..(just for a few hours)……. the glue is still new and it’s a good idea to give the newly installed extensions time to fully set in place, and for the glue to fully dry.
